No Is a Complete Sentence

By | 2017-09-15T12:49:36+00:00 July 23rd, 2014|Others|5 Comments

Have you ever said yes to something you really didn't want to do? I have. I've said yes for several reasons. I didn't want to disappoint the other person, so I said yes. Sometimes, I’ve felt so darn guilty that I caved in. At other times, I felt put on the spot and pushed in a corner. More times than not, I've regretted when I agreed to do something that I didn't want to do. Then there were the times when I did have the courage to say no, but my response was so abrupt that it came off a [...]

By | 2017-09-15T12:52:09+00:00 June 27th, 2014|Member Spotlight|8 Comments

This month, I have the pleasure of introducing Kathi Palmer as our featured member of One Degree Shift community. Read how Kathi overcame shyness, cancer, and more. Kathi's story is inspiring and her message is simple, "Life is short! Give yourself a break, and Do what you enjoy." CASSANDRA: Hi Kathi! Tell us a little bit about yourself. KATHI: I’ve lived in upstate New York all 51 years of my life. I’ve been married for 27 years to someone I rode the school bus with; although, I didn't like him then! I have three children. The oldest is getting married [...]

Make A Shift To Purposeful Action

By | 2017-09-15T12:53:30+00:00 June 21st, 2014|Others|0 Comments

Here's a post from my Facebook timeline. See if you can relate to it. I asked life, "Why are you so difficult?" Life smiled and said, "You people never appreciate easy things." If you're anything like me (and I suspect we're alike in many ways), you may get busy doing a lot of activity but not seeing a lot of results. You know what I mean? There is a difference between ACTION and ACTIVITY. Activity will keep you spinning your wheels but not making any progress. As Stephen Covey teaches in his book, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, [...]

Five Tools That Make Selling Easier

By | 2017-09-15T12:54:52+00:00 June 6th, 2014|Others|6 Comments

By Debbie Mrazek In selling, it's all about doing what you know each and every day. Rome wasn't built in a day and neither will your sales quota. Whether you are a veteran climber in the sales field or a newbie traveler, the same steps that make one person successful work for others too. Just realize that it comes down to this: You just have to do more of what you know works and do less of what you know doesn't work. When you begin doing more of the things that work, it will become easier and easier to do [...]

Four Shifts That Transformed My Life

By | 2017-09-15T12:57:26+00:00 May 14th, 2014|Others|1 Comment

Do you realize a tiny shift can completely change the course of your journey? To understand this, consider the boiling point of water. At 211 degrees, water is hot. At 212 degrees, just one degree more, it boils. And with boiling water, comes steam. And that steam can power a train. So, what made the difference? The one extra degree. I’ve also read that one degree off in your calculation in sailing will take you in a whole new location. A one degree shift might seem insignificant, but it can transform your life.

What’s Your WHY?

By | 2017-09-15T12:58:27+00:00 April 21st, 2014|Others|12 Comments

In his TEDx talk Start with Why: How Great Leaders Inspire Action, Simon Sinek contends, “People don’t buy what you do; they buy WHY you do it.” Earlier this month I attended the Wealthy Visionary Conference in Los Angeles and had the amazing opportunity to learn from Ridgely Goldsborough, co-founder of the WHY Formula. He coaches professionals worldwide to attract ideal clients based on their WHY. He shared nine common WHY’s that drive people to do what they do. Ridgely’s formula is to start with your why – first tell people what you believe so you can connect with those [...]
